Quick Key is a built-in tool within E-xact's Real-time Payment Manager (RPM) that allows merchants to process multiple transactions quickly and instantaneously via file upload.

By uploading a CSV file containing transaction data, merchants can review, edit, and process up to 250 transactions simultaneously in a single batch.


1. Uploading & Managing Transactions

The Transactions area is where you upload and review your batch files.

  • Supported Formats: You must upload your transactions in CSV format.
  • File Limits: A maximum of 250 transactions is permitted per uploaded file.

Once a file is successfully uploaded, the transaction details will populate in a data table for your review prior to processing.

  • Removing Transactions: You can remove individual transactions from the batch by checking the box next to the row and clicking "selected," or clear the entire board by clicking "all."

2. Editing Individual Transactions (Transaction Entry)

You don't need to re-upload a file just to fix a minor error. Information about the transactions can be reviewed and edited directly within the RPM before processing.

To modify a specific transaction:

  1. Click on the relevant transaction's row in your uploaded data table.
  2. The details will populate in the Transaction Entry area.
  3. Modify the necessary details, such as:
    • Transaction Type (Purchase or Refund)
    • Amount
    • Credit Card Number
    • Expiry Date
    • Reference Numbers

3. Batch Settings & Terminal Selection

If your merchant account is configured with multiple terminals (for example, one terminal for Canadian currency and another for US currency), the Batch Settings area will appear.

Before you click process, use this section to:

  1. Select the correct Merchant Account.
  2. Select the specific Terminal under that account to ensure your batch is processed in the correct currency and routed to the proper bank settlement account.
